Congratulations Darren, you wil be an asset to the Canyons School District. Great opportunities are ahead and probably some challenges too, but very exciting to be in a position to build a community and follow through with a vision I am sure you have been thinking about for some time now. Glad to hear you will be taking the network with you, I am sure there will be times we can lend a hand.

Congratulations! I hope you enjoy the new challenges. What an exciting opportunity to build your team from scratch - hand picking your people should really help your team work smoothly and meet the needs of everyone.

Beginning a job in a newly formed district leaves a lot of doors open. You will be developing a new culture and not have to deal with the "we have always" attitude. Congratulations and good luck to you and your family!

    Congrats Darren,
I know you will be successful with your experiences and education demonstrated through this opportunity to build it from the ground up. This is every Ed Techie's dream to build it from the ground up rather than repair what you inherit.

So here is to change...you, me, President Obama all starting in new careers.

May your budget be accommodating, your grants many, and the participants of your PD and techspertise continue to share knowledge and expand their own PLNs.

Congratulations, and don't feel badly about the transition - your old division should have promoted you long before now.
  • John Pederson · 11 months ago
Another win for the good guys.
  • MikeSansone · 11 months ago
Great news! Congrats on the new gig. I'm sure your new school and students will embrace what you bring, and that your old school and students will always be learning from what you've shared.

Continue to be contagious and instruct to independence
  • Karl Fisch · 11 months ago
    Congrats. Now don't screw up.

Seriously, congratulations, go forth and do amazing things for kids. I know you will.

Congratulations! So exciting and excellent news for both you & family. But does this mean we will see more of Darren or less :)
  • Dean Shareski · 11 months ago
Nicely done. I look forward to learning from you as you enter what is likely another learning curve, perhaps a steep one.

I work with Darren every day. In fact I sit right next to him at the office. I can say that I think he is the most qualified person for the job. Darren has great vision and will do a fabulous things. I have learned a lot from Darren over the last 3 years, as has my team. Best wishes Darren, you will be great.

Darren, I tried to post my congratulations on Facebook, but it was blocked by the district. Yet we were able to access Playboy videos on YouTube. Go figure.
  • Sean Nash · 11 months ago
Now that's exciting. The opportunities associated with brand new paint smell are intoxicating and empowering. Congratulations and good luck. Here's betting this is a huge positive for you & yours!

Amazing how we embrace change, but when it comes time for change in our own lives, we get a little cold feet sometimes! Congratulations, and best wishes to you and your family as you prepare to make this transition.

GRATZ! It sounds like a fun and interesting position, and I am sure all the folks at CSD will be excited to have you.

Do you have ideas already in place or is it too early for that?
  • Clif Mims · 11 months ago
Congratulations, Darren. Prayers and blessings to you, your family and the teachers and kids at CSD.
  • Bill Ferriter · 11 months ago
So are you hiring yet, Darren?

    I'd like to apply!

(Can you imagine if we really did get a district full of ed tech superstars all working in one place at one time? That would be pretty crazy, I'd bet.)

Like everyone, jazzed for your opportunity. Good people in good places always end up doing good things.

    Rock on,
    Bill
